The original Barbados Golf and Country Club was designed and built in 1974 by the notable architect Col. J. Harris. For more than 20 years it has laid sleeping and awaiting its rebirth.

The Barbados Golf Club - Golf Course
In July 2000 the redesigned and completely reconstructed Barbados Golf Club reopened as the island's first public Championship golf course. The 6,805 yard par 72 links style golf course was approved and sanctioned by the PGA European Tour to host a PGA Seniors Tournament in 2003, and it also hosted the Barbados Open on many occasions.

This 18-hole golf course at Barbados Golf Club features two “Returning Nines” which finish into a expansive and unique triple green that wrap seamlessly around a lake.

Magnificent trees strategically planted 25 years ago, along with the beautiful landscape, give the course a mix of both mature ambience and contemporary feel.

Two lakes intrude and enhance play on five holes and create a dramatic Amen Corner' on holes 15 & 16. A series of coral waste bunkers carved through 4 holes adds to the excitement and personality of the course.

The challenges, rewards and scenic views of the course encourage players of all abilities to play with determination to hone their skills while enjoying the company of friends amidst tropical surroundings.

Barbados Golf Club Course was Designed by....
Ron Kirby one of the most respected and experienced golf course architects in the world, redesigned the course to be fair, challenging and a pleasurable walk amidst tropical surroundings. It was also reconstruted to environmentally sensitive design specifications.

Practice area at Barbados Golf Club
A generous putting practice green and a chipping practice area is available for your warm-up before the game. A fully outfitted driving range of 250 yards with 13 practice bays is also available for a more extensive tune-up of your driver and iron play. Lessons are available by appointment.

Junior Golf at Barbados Golf Club
Many young golfers have honed their game at Barbados Golf Club under the tutorship of the club professional. Several of these youngsters have gone on to represent Barbados in the Junior Caribbean Championships as well as participating in international tournaments further afield. Putting lessons available at the junior golf programme.

USGA Rules govern all play
Replace divots with sand provided
Persons must be 16 years and over with a valid Driver’s License to operate golf carts
The 90 degree cart rule is always in effect, unless otherwise posted

Lateral hazards – Red Stakes
Out of bounds – White Stakes (Private property)
