GRAEME HALL NATURE SANCTUARY Located on 35-acres of breathtaking beauty lavishly sprinkled with plants, flowers, birds and wildlife are just the beginning of the adventure. ST LAWRENCE GAP This area 'The Gap' as it is usually called, is the main nightlife strip in Barbados and is very popular with both the locals and visitors. KING GEORGE V MEMORIAL PARK This is one of the two national parks and popular picnic spots for most locals, located in the south-eastern parish of St Philip. Some of the features of the park would be the esplanade which is great for group outings, the spacious playing field, pavilion and hard court, the big children's playground equipped with swings, slides, see-saws, monkey bars and a tree-house. THREE HOUSES NATIONAL PARK Three Houses Park is one of the two national parks and popular picnic spots for most locals, located in the south-eastern part of the island. This grand old 'great house' is more than 300 years old and is fully furnished and completely open to the public. The house has a long history of dramas over the centuries, from hurricanes to fires, the most recent being a fire that gutted the building in 1995. FOURSQUARE RUM FACTORY & HERITAGE PARK
This is a veritable town of activity and worth some time to stop and visit. Once a plantation and sugar factory, Foursquare now houses the newest and most modern rum distillery in the region. A tour takes you through this modern facility yet gives you exciting glimpses of its bygone sugar factory days as well. Meanwhile, back out in the 'town', there are numerous shops, eateries and vendors peppered throughout the grounds, as well as an art foundry/gallery with visiting and permanent shows. HISTORIC GARRISON AREA Functioning as a British Garrison for some 126 years, this facility was in fact the first Garrison of the West Indies. Today the focal point of the garrison complex is the Savannah, which is now the island's only racetrack. Spread along the southern outskirts of Bridgetown is a veritable community of some 60 to 70 old garrison buildings, built from a period beginning in the 1660s and continuing into the 1800s. In 1785 the British Government established permanent land forces in the Windward and Leeward islands with Barbados as headquarters. GARRISON SAVANNAH RACE TRACK This is the lone horse racing track in Barbados and has been the home of horse racing since 1845. During this period the officers of the British Regiment stationed in Barbados, used the then parade ground to race their horses. THE BARBADOS MUSEUM
The Barbados Museum, once a military prison, is one of several buildings that make up the historic Garrison area. Built between 1817 and 1818, the prison was leased to the Barbados Museum and Historical Society in 1933.

GEORGE WASHINGTON HOUSE & MUSEUM This beautifully restored 18th Century Plantation House was where George Washington and his brother Lawrence slept in 1751. It was his first and only visit outside of North America. There's also a museum showcasing 18th & 19th century Barbados as well as artifacts and recreations of yesteryear. NEEDHAMS POINT LIGHTHOUSE Existing since 1855, this is the second oldest and the smallest of the lighthouses. It was refurbished by Hilton Barbados and is located on their property.

TYROL COT HERITAGE VILLAGE This 1854 building was the home of the late Sir Grantley Adams and wife Lady Adams. The house has both architectural and historic value, and is a perfect example of the blending of classical and tropical design. The interior is filled with antiques and memorabilia of the Adams era. Around the grounds there are little art, craft and curio shops that replicate the traditional chattel house.

FRANCIA PLANTATION A regal plantation house perched above the lovely St. George valley, Francia is owned by descendents of the original owner. The station was part of a chain of six signal stations used island-wide by the British is the early 1800s. Carlisle Bay
This is a picturesque long beach with mostly calm and clear waters. It is also called “Browne's Beach” by some locals as well as being Barbados' most important bay, rich in history and great for snorkeling and Scuba diving because of its reef, colourful fish and many wrecks. Browne's Beach
Calm clear waters with a beautiful view of the Carlisle Bay and the many yachts and fishing boats. It sets the atmosphere for great sunset photos. Directions: Bay Street St Michael
Pebbles Beach
This beach has mostly calm and clear waters with access to lots of watersports and some restaurants. Directions: Aquatic Gap, off Bay St (South of Bridgetown)
Needham's Point / Hilton Beach
This beach has very calm and clear waters with access to lots of watersports. This area is rich in military history and is the location of Hilton Barbados Hotel and the Needham's Point Lighthouse. Directions: Needham's Point Off Bay Street (South of Bridgetown)
Greaves End Beach / Drill Hall Beach This beach has medium waves and is great for beginners surfing and boogie boarding. It is also great for picnicking or just relaxing under the many trees. This beach is not great for swimming because of the reef close by. It is located through the road next to Hastings Police Station and Opposite the Garrison Savannah Directions: Off Hastings Road Highway 7 (South of Bridgetown)
Hastings Beach / Hastings Rocks Once an attractive beach, but due to the elements has been badly eroded. At this beach you can find facilities, a Promenade with bandstand, benches, tables, and a Play-park for kids, making it great for hanging out and hosting functions. The sea here is very rocky and swimming is not recommended. Despite the erosion done here, it is still a nice beach. Directions: Hastings Road Highway 7 (South of Bridgetown)
Rockley Beach / Accra Beach This is one of the longest and widest stretches of beach on the south coast, and a very popular hang-out for all ages. It has moderate waves, not too much undertow and is deal for Body Surfing and Boogie Boarding. It also has great facilities, a Play-park, beach bars, food court and is excellent for shopping for beach accessories and souvenirs, as well as having your hair braided. Worthing Beach / Sandy Beach This is a beautiful beach with medium waves, clear waters and lovely white sand. It is popular but not too crowded, excellent for the family and is great for inexpensive Guest House accommodations. Also available is some beach vending, where you can get souvenirs and beach accessories. At this beach there is also a shallow coral reef to discover. St Lawrence Beach The sea here is mostly calm and shallow, a bit rocky but popular for watersports, some Windsurfing and Kite Surfing. At this beach there's also a reef to explore and at night gives way to a beautiful romantic setting as seating is available. Directions: St Lawrence Gap Off Highway 7 (South of Bridgetown)
Dover Beach This is a popular beach with lots of activities and medium waves. This long stretch of beach is great for Body Surfing, Boogie Boarding and many other watersports. Also available is some beach vending, where you can get souvenirs and beach accessories. On the opposite side of the beach is a Playing field. Golden Sands Beach / Maxwell Beach This is a lovely beach with beautiful surroundings and medium waves. The sea here can be a bit rough at times, but is still good for swimming and wind surfing. Directions: Maxwell Road Highway 7 (South of Bridgetown)
Miami Beach / Enterprise Beach This is a beautiful stretch of beach, with medium to small waves most of the year, plenty of trees for shade, making it very popular with the locals on weekends. The sea here can be a bit rough at times, but is still good for swimming. Also available is some beach vending, where you can get souvenirs and beach accessories as well as eats and drinks. Silver Rock Beach / Silver Sands Beach
The island's top windsurfing and Kitesurfing spot, this long, luxuriously wide stretch of beach has medium waves, a lot of undertow and good ambience. A windsurfing and kite surfing shop sits at the apex of Silver Rock and the reef a little ways out provides a nice break for good windsurfing during the season.
Long Beach
The last in the island loop, Long Beach stretches for more than a mile. A great find since it is little visited, either by locals or tourists. The nearby long Beach Club has some facilities, otherwise, this is a fairly private setting that is surrounded by 'rab' land and some jagged bluffs.

Foul Bay Beach This beach is the largest beach on this coast, surrounded by cliffs it is ideal for picnics and is home to many fishing boats. Sea Grapes are also grown in this area. Directions: Foul Bay, Rices East off Highway 7 (East of Oistins)
Crane Beach
If nothing else, this is a gorgeous beach fronting one of the more luxurious and oldest hotels on the island, The Crane Resort. Bigger waves make it good for body surfing, but in the cove on the left there is safe swimming close to shore. This beach was rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world by Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous.
Sam Lords's Castle / Long Bay Beach This beautiful beach is surrounded by cliffs with a back-drop of palm trees and has the historic Sam Lord's Castle towering above. This castle was once the home of Sam Lord the notorious pirate who used to wreck ships visiting the shores of the south-east coast. The Castle is now the Sam Lord's Castle Resort. Harrismith Beach This beach is secluded with beautiful cliff-sides, caves, and a back-drop of palms overlooked by the ruins of the old Harrismith Great House, giving it the perfect atmosphere for picnicking. Directions: Between Sam Lord's Castle & Bottom Bay East off Highway 7 (East of Oistins)
Bottom Bay Located just north of the famed Sam Lord's Castle, this is yet another beautiful secluded beach positioned between cliffs with a back-drop of palm trees.
