Barbados enjoys a high health standard and has excellent facilities in most aspects of medical care. There is one Government hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), just on the outskirts of Bridgetown. This is a 600-bed facility with adequate specialised services and equipment.
There are also some very highly trained chiropractors, physiotherapists, optometrists, masseuses, buy zithromax doctors and other health professionals working in Barbados.
The QEH does not generally recognise overseas health plans nor does it accept credit cards. There is also the privately run, Bayview Hospital, also on the outskirts of Bridgetown. This facility recognises some insurance plans, but confirm if your plan is accepted in advance.
The island also has a strong network of Government polyclinics island-wide and there is a healthy number of private physicians and specialists.
