n Barbados, Places of Interest are many with much to see and so many things to do that you almost need a day planner to cover all the places to visit. So we have gathered some of the places and sights on the island which may interest you. Barbados attractions are so varied, but nevertheless we have tried to tease you with a bit of most by categorising them to cater to your needs. Barbados places of interest can be visited via Rent a car, or by one of our Guided Bus Tours

Our capital the historic Bridgetown, is one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean with many historic landmarks and a variety of restaurants  and Duty-Free shopping.

Secluded coves, bays and sea caves, a wildlife reserve, weathered cliffs, pounding surfs, breathtaking views and sleepy fishing villages are just some of the treats in store for the visitor to the north of the island. It is also the least developed part of Barbados.

The central part of Barbados has the highest point of the island, and is a great experience for lovers of natural beauty, who want to see an array of botanical wonders, gullies and cane fields.

The magnificent and dramatic East Coast, the Atlantic coastline with its crashing waves and empty beaches is the quieter part of the island, though very popular with island tours. The rugged area of the Scotland District with its spectacular rock formations is a photographers dream. A trip on one of the island’s Safari Tours will ensure that you see both on and off the beaten track. This area is especially known for its relaxing accommodations and restaurants.

The West coast, Barbados’ prime resort area with its beautiful Beaches is of great historic significance as it was here that saw the arrival of the first settlers to the island. It is also has some small towns with a wide selection of restaurants, accommodations and duty-free shopping.

The sights in the South are many and vary, from the environmental nature & wildlife reserve to  rum distillery tours. They are also educational and historical attractions. The south is the hub of the island’s pulsating nightlife with St. Lawrence Gap as the hive of activity as well as a variety of restaurants, accommodations, duty-free shopping and action-filled beaches during the day.

These are a few things to remember when taking Self Guided Tours in Barbados, the roads meander and are often unmarked, so don’t get frustrated if you get lost everybody does, even Bajans! If you make a wrong turn, consider it part of the adventure of touring Barbados. You might want to pick up any of the several free maps available everywhere.

Bajans are generally very helpful in directing you to your destination. They will do their best to try to steer you the right way, even if the directions seem a bit skewed. But not to worry, you will get there eventually.
