It was dedicated to this legend Sir Garfield Auburn Sobers for his accomplishments as the world?s greatest all-rounder cricketer and for his contributions to the world of cricket.
The Sir Gary Sobers Statue as it is called in Barbados, was originally located at the Sir Garfield Sobers Round-about in Wildey, but has since been relocated to the Kensington Oval Facility on the 19th November of 2006.
The statue can now be seen near the entrance of the Sir Garfield Sobers Players' Pavilion, on the Pickwick Walk.
Sir Gary is one of the Barbados National Heroes.
