Needham’s Point Beach in Barbados is located in the
Carlisle Bay area, fronts the prestigious
Hilton Hotel Resort, and is situated in the
Garrison Historic area, which is strong in military heritage.
Also known as
HILTON BEACH, this area has two bays, both featuring a white sandy beach, lapped by azure calm clear waters most of the year, with little to no undertow. It also has a reef to explore, and is home to the
Needhams Point Lighthouse.
Hilton beach is one of the densest Hawksbill Turtle nesting beaches on the island, so you are almost guaranteed to see one while enjoying your non-motorise watersports activity.
Other attractions making up the historic Needham’s Point military area are the
Graves End Military Cemetery and the
St Ann's Fort, both located at the southern end and built in the 1700s. At the north end on the Hilton Barbados property is the old
Charles Fort with English iron cannons from the
17th Century National Cannon Collection.
Needham’s Point/Hilton Beach can be found on the Caribbean side of the island, on the
South-west Coast of Barbados in the parish of St Michael.
