Worthing Beach in Barbados is locally known as
Sandy Beach and is one of the more popular beaches on the south coast.
This is a beautiful beach with small to medium waves, clear waters and pure white sand. It is a favourite with both visitors to the island and the local crowd.
Throughout the years the shoreline at Worthing Beach was eroded by the elements, but has since been redeveloped, and now brags an attractive beach once again.
Sandy beach is now made up of multiple artificial bays separated by intervals of rocks with a shallow reef not far from shore.
The water here is calmer to the west (right), becoming a bit choppy the more eastward and outward you go.
Worthing beach is home to a couple of kiosks with beach vendors selling souvenirs and beach accessories, as well as beach operators providing beach rentals and watersport activities.
It also fronts some Guest House accommodations and a
Carib Beach Bar.
Worthing/Sandy Beach can be found on the Caribbean side of the island, on the
South Coast of Barbados in the parish of Christ Church.
