Martin’s Bay is home to a quaint little fishing village on the eastern side of Barbados.
It has medium waves with some undertow and natural pools close to shore for swimming. Further out to sea tends to have rougher waters with lots of undertow, so stay close to shore.
Martin’s Bay features a rocky shore dotted with a number of coconut trees, and some shallow reefs close to shore for exploring. There are also quite a few fishing boats and fisher folks in the area, as well as a tiny fishing complex where fishermen bring their catch of the day. This bay is famous for lobster catches.
This area also once had a railway line which ran from St Andrew straight through all the way to Bridgetown.
Martin’s Bay can be found on the East Coast of Barbados in the parish of St John.
