ocated on the rugged eastern coastline of Barbados is
Skeete’s Bay, a small bay in a charming little fishing village.
Skeete’s Bay has medium waves with some undertow close to shore, but sea conditions tend to intensify as you go further out, as waves become larger with strong undercurrents. Some swimming can be done in this as long as you stay close to the shore.
Named after Francis Skeete the former landowner, this bay is home to a fish market, fishing boats, a jetty and friendly fisher folks.
Skeete’s Bay is a popular spot with locals from the area, featuring a beautiful view of the coastline and the bobbing fishing boats in the bay.
Situated Just off to the south-east of this coastline is a very little uninhabited island called “
Culpepper Island”.
Skeete’s Bay can be found on the
East Coast of Barbados in the parish of St Philip.
