Enterprise Beach in Barbados, locally called
Miami Beach and is located just on the outskirts of the historic
Oistins Town.
This beautiful stretch of beach is expansive, somewhat sheltered and features crystalline waters, small to medium waves with some undertow most of the year, and the occasional choppy waters.
To the west end (right) of the beach there is a small bay with fairly calm waters most of time, and bobbing fishing boats out to sea, as the bay is next to Oistins fishing village. There is also an oil berth in the area, so you will also see the occasional oil tanker.
The east end tends to have rougher waters and swimming in this area should be avoided because of the jagged cliff and rocks located here.
At Miami Beach there are plenty of trees for shade and lots of picnic tables for family outings. Some watersports activity is also available.
Enterprise beach is a favourite spot among both locals and tourist with facilities and beach rentals to make your day out as comfortable as possible.
On the beach there is food and drinks for sale and vendors selling tropical print clothing, jewelry, beach accessories and other souvenir items.
A bit inland, but still oceanfront you will find a number of vacation accommodations ranging from guest houses to a boutique hotel.
Enterprise Beach/Miami Beach can be found on the Caribbean side of the island, on the
South Coast of Barbados in the parish of Christ Church.
